Commodity Watch: Recovery in copper futures on higher spot demand
Recovery in copper futures on higher spot demand
New Delhi: Copper prices on Thursday rose 0.24 per cent to Rs809 per kilogram in the futures market on the back of higher spot demand. On Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper contracts for delivery in September traded higher Rs1.95 or 0.24 per cent at Rs809 per kg in a business turnover of 10,650 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to the raising of bets by participants.
Aluminium futures fall on low demand
Aluminium prices declined 85 paise to Rs227.55 per kilogram in the futures market as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. On MCX, aluminium for delivery in September fell 85 paise or 0.37 per cent to Rs227.55 per kg in 3,478 lots. Analysts said cutting down of positions by participants on easing demand from consuming industries mainly kept aluminium prices lower.
